If you’re a coach, teacher, and content creator, creating courses or classes and you’d like to share workbooks that are fillable, I’ve created this post and video specially for you!
Creating a digitally fillable workbook is a great idea to engage with your audience while providing valuable content for them. I usually create these types of worksheets with Canva, and I’m going to show you exactly how to create a fillable PDF workbook online for FREE!
How to Create a fillable PDF workbook for free.
Before you begin creating your fillable workbook, there are a few steps you need to take:
You’ll need to decide what size you want your workbook to be. I usually use US letter ( 8.5 x 11 inches) and A4 (8.3 × 11.7 inches). You do not need to use these sizes, you can input your custom dimensions on Canva. Canva has the option for that.
You’ll have to decide if you would like to create your workbook from scratch or use an already made template. Canva has a huge selection of templates you can choose from. You will find this in the template tab by the left of your screen.
Don’t want to start from scratch? You can check out my store for workbook templates you can use to get you started quickly!
Creating your workbook in Canva.
Create fill-in boxes.
Once you’ve chosen a template, you can add your content and customize it to however you like. You can have the colors, fonts, and images changed.
To create the fill-in boxes for people to type in answers or other information, you’ll need to create boxes using shapes from the “Elements” tab. I suggest having these boxes colored in a lighter shade, so it’s easier to see your student or client’s answers.
Here is a PDF workbook sample I created, you can get the Canva file and PDF to practice with it here.
Download your PDF workbook
Once you’ve finished creating your design, it’s time to save and download it. At the top right corner of your screen, click the download button. Make sure you save your design as a PDF Standard.
Now that you’ve got your PDF saved, let’s make it fillable!
Creating your Fillable workbook with PDF Escape.
Start by going to PDF Escape. This is a free app that you can use online to create forms. It’s one of my favorite free online resources for making workbooks and fillable PDFs.
Select Upload PDF to PDFescape and upload the PDF workbook that you just created in Canva. At the top left, click on the Form Field button. You can choose from these options:
Text – for short answers or a line of text, such as name, phone number, or email address.
Text Paragraph – for longer answers or paragraphs.
Checkbox – For a checklist.
Radiobutton – use to create a list of options where only one of the options will be selected, like yes/no.
Dropdown – used to create a list of options where only one option can be made.
Listbox – Just like the dropdown, but more options and lets your users chose multiple options.
Reset button – clears all words or text on the fields
Submit button – use if you need to have the form submitted somewhere.
Once you have selected the “Form Field” type you need, choose the area in your document you want the field to be in and draw out the boxes.
Now that you’ve added all your fillable text boxes, save and download your file. You can do that by clicking the green downward arrows on the left side of your screen.
Voila! You’ve just created a fillable PDF workbook for your course, subscribers, or clients. Simply have your downloaded file and upload it wherever you need.
If you’re more of a visual learner, watch this video as I go through the steps to creating a fillable workbook!

A video tutorial on how to design an eBook using Canva.
Now while I'll be sharing tips and tricks you can use to design eBooks with Canva, (like the ones shown below from the Joricreatives shop. First, let's talk about how Canva works and how easy it is to start creating your ebook today!
What is Canva?
Canva is a free graphic design platform that allows you to create amazing and professional-looking visual content without any design knowledge or experience. This is possible using Canva’s easy-to-use drag-and-drop feature and professional layouts to design consistently stunning graphics. You can pretty much do anything using Canva's templates: change colors, add text, remove it and move it around as you please.
All you need to do is sign up for a free account and start creating!
Another amazing thing about Canva is that it is easily accessible from any computer with an internet connection. Once you create your brand new design, it's automatically saved to your free account so that you can always go back and make changes to it whenever you want.

Where to Find Design Inspiration for your eBooks.
Let's be honest, sometimes coming up with a design right off the bat can be challenging, and having these resources to draw inspiration from has been really helpful. Here are four places you can get design inspiration for your ebooks.
1.Pinterest. Whenever I need inspiration for any kind of design, my number one go-to is Pinterest. Pinterest is not just a visual network where you save pictures to and that it is. Pinterest is a gold mine of design inspiration and a huge visual search engine. Whenever you need inspiration for any design, type in the keyword you need to search for in the search field, and then check out all the designs that come up. For example, in the screenshot below, I searched for birthday card designs.
Once the results come up, you can simply "Pin" a design that you like to one of your Pinterest Boards.
How to Organize and Collect Designs that you Like on Pinterest.
One of the easiest ways to organize and gather designs you want for potential Pinterest design projects is through the use of secret boards. A secret board on Pinterest is a board that only you can see, allowing you to keep the ideas of your design private. If you save a pin on a secret board, it's not going to appear anywhere.
Here is a secret board I created for store ideas
2. Dribble. Dribble is another amazing place to find design inspiration. Dribbble is a platform where designers gain inspiration, feedback, a community, and jobs from. This is a good resource to discover what designers are doing worldwide. On the platform, there is an inspiration tab where you can search for any design idea.
IMAGE
I use this platform whenever I need to see what other designers are doing and it is been a very helpful tool in my design journey. It is absolutely free to join and you can interact with other designers as well.
3. Google Images
Google images allow users to search the World Wide Web for image content. This is also great to find images on the web for inspiration for your ebook designs.
4.Amazon.com This is another great place to get inspiration for your designs. You can see what other designers and writers are doing here.
I hope you found the information on this blog post helpful and that it triggers the jumpstart to your ebook creation journey. Thank you so much for reading.

Earlier this week, I had a lot of my files moved from my laptop to my cloud storage. My laptop was begging for it; I create so many files that it is hard to keep track of them sometimes. There were so many files!
Having cloud storage is one of the many luxuries we have nowadays, thanks to technology. I decided to write this post to encourage you to use this amazing technology to your advantage, especially as a business owner. If you are not okay with having your business data stored in a single place or exposed to danger and slipping behind the times, you need to get good cloud storage.
Cloud storage is basically a system that allows you to store data on the Internet, as you would save on a computer. Here are a few reasons why every business owner should use these facilities in their business.
It saves you money. From buying storage to maintaining it, all that is reduced. The storage providers bear the cost of maintenance and a number of them offer free storage, so you may not need to pay anything unless you need more storage.
You are sure of the security. Every year, the threat of cyberattacks is becoming rampant. Using cloud storage facilities like Dropbox and Google Drive can protect you from cyberattacks and is really important for your business. This is a big one for me.
It is so convenient to access or display your files. You do not need any hard disk or flash drive; everything is done online.
You can have your really important documents stored on the cloud and use that as a backup.
If you need to search for your files, it won't take up any room on your computer. This is huge for me because I create loads of graphics and sometimes, it can be a lot of work finding them on my laptop.
If you make any data changes, all the changes will be reflected on all your devices. This is one of my favorite features. Having to continue any of my work from either my phone or laptop.
You can have more than one user using a cloud storage service, and it won’t affect each other’s files or work. It is really great for teamwork. Team members can easily exchange and edit documents.
I use my cloud storage to store and share all the templates that I sell with my customers and they can easily download their templates after payment. This has made a huge difference in how I run my online store.
Here is a list of cloud storage providers you can try
Google Drive
DropBox
OneDrive
Box
Amazon Drive
Apple iCloud
I currently use Google Drive and DropBox for my business, and it has been so helpful. Google Drive is free up to 15GB. DropBox has a basic plan of up to 2GB free storage while OneDrive offers 5GB of free storage space. Of course, Google Drive is the best option here.
Do you use cloud storage? How has it affected your life/business?
